Our Case has
FINALLY been submitted to the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia.
This means that they have all of our documents and are now conducting their own investigation to determine Caden’s orphan status. Its the process to investigate whether our child meets the definition of an orphan under U.S. immigration law. They start these investigations in the order in which they were received, but completion of this step depends on the unique circumstances of each case and can take up to several weeks or months. During this time, they may request additional information or documentation from us if they feel we have insufficient or deficient supporting evidence to determine orphan status.
This would suck.
Of course we are PRAYING that His case is an open and shut case. That we have absolutely every bit of information and that they have no trouble conducting their witness interviews.
But isn’t everybody else??
We know lots of parents who had to wait a looonnggg time and some who got to go back very quickly.
That’s the thing. You never know, as every case is different.
So of course we don’t stop praying. God knows the outcome but never the less we still make our hearts desires known to Him and I trust that He knows best for me and has my best interest at heart. I hope He thinks its in my best interest to go very soon ;)
SOO Happy to have at least had something big happen. Its the long weeks that go by with hearing very little that start to make you go a little nutso.
I will leave you with this cute face… doesnt he just look like he needs to come home?
yeah, I think so too!
*A special Thanks to Millie and Nick who are in Ethiopia right now picking up their sweet twin girls, for taking this picture for me. I’m dying over his hair. Its simply amazing!
